Every question begins as an act of optimism.
What We Ask is a 33 second film about a new kind of intimacy, the kind that can be produced on demand. A woman brings a question to a machine and receives exactly what she came for: attention, fluency, a voice soft enough to lean into.
When she breaks, everything turns amber and goes silent, the one moment in the film no system touches.
Then the screen speaks to her in a human typeface, borrowing the very warmth it measured.
What We Ask is about that borrowing: how easily we accept a voice that sounds like it loves us, and how little it costs the thing that speaks.
